Story #5

There are many people throughout my life that have made me feel loved and cared for.  Of course the first people that come to mind are my parents.  They've loved and cared for me since I was born and continue to do so.  But that's the job of a parent right?  To love and care for their kids?  I guess I took it for granted, especially with seeing and reading about negligent parents in the news.  Just an hour ago I saw an article about how a 5 month old baby had died of starvation because its parents died of overdoses on drugs.  Seriously?  They had one job.  Not an easy one because raising and caring for a child is no easy task, but it just makes me sad that some people don't take parenting seriously.  So I am grateful for parents who fed me, sheltered me, kept me clothed, put me through school until I got married, took care of me when I was sick (as my mom hands me warm lemon and honey water for my cough haha) and loved me even when I was being mischievous or not being my best self.  I am one lucky gal for having the parents that I have!

My husband, Robert, also comes to mind, as well as his parents.  I married a good guy with some good parents who have graciously let us live with them for the past 2 years.  Robert has made me feel special on countless occasions throughout our 5 years of marriage.  It's the little things he does that makes me feel loved and cared for: giving me back scratches even though he doesn't like giving them, letting me sleep in on weekends even though he has to get up early the rest of the week, enduring episodes of the Bachelor with me, watching the girls so I can have down time for myself, holding me as I cry for no reason when I need to let out some of my emotions, and the list goes on and on.

My little girls also make me feel loved.  It's the times when they are sad and inconsolable by others, but calm down when I hold them.  It's the times Myla squeezes me in a tight hug.  It's the times when Myla tells me she loves me in her little, squeaky voice.  And I can't wait for Aria to get older and do the same things (I sure hope she does!).

**Note: I knew Robert would bring up the fact that I wrote about him second to my parents, but as I was writing, I was thinking chronologically. I mean the questions says "throughout your life", so my brain automatically starts from the beginning of my life. Not because Robert is second to my parents :). He's my #1.
