It's Friday Night

I love Fridays.  It's a nice short day for me since I get out of class at 1 and get to go home.  Plus I only work 2 hours that day.  Robert and I got some free dinner from a Groupon his mom gave him for his birthday at Sammy's.  They have some gooood burgers.  After dinner, we went to the game against Hawaii.
Robert got his new iPhone 5 today and was excited to try the Panoramic feature.
Front row seats (Robert was excited about that too)
The second stretcher-worthy injury within 3 minutes of the first one.  Both within 7 minutes from the start of the game.
Cosmo decided to join us for a little bit.  I thought that girl (hugging him) was going to cry... she was a little too excited about Cosmo being by us.  One of her friends hugged him and let go, putting her jacket collar up to her nose.  He was a little stinky... sweat and stuff.  I don't blame him... I would be sweaty in a costume like that too.

After publishing this post,  Robert wanted me to go back and add a couple of things.
1) He caught one of the footballs at one of the kickoffs.
2) We were on ESPN.
He has been talking about that all last night after the game... and he's still talking about this morning haha.

People...

There are just some interesting people on BYU campus (as well as other places), and I've just had the urge to make a blog dedicated to the people I see (along with pictures).  But I feel like that would be mean, or I would get kicked out of BYU.  I told my boss about this (we were talking about the guy that came into our office with a paper moustache on), and she said "You don't have to say they're people from BYU, you could just generalize it."  But still, I have mixed feelings.  It's just interesting to see the things I've seen on BYU campus...
  • a guy wearing a green cape (countless times during my second semester here at BYU as a freshman)
  • a girl wearing a yellow cape (seen with the guy wearing a green cape)
  • a guy with a crocheted beard
  • a guy with a paper moustache
  • a guy dressed up as a pirate (I guess it was for "Talk Like a Pirate Day", but still...)
  • a girl wearing an interesting skirt
  • a girl with a bow in her hair that was bigger than her face
And those are the ones that come to my mind right now.  I'm sure I've seen more.  I see people take pictures of these people behind their backs sometimes.  Is it mean?  I don't know.  This reminds me of the People of Walmart website that shows a bunch of funny things people wear at Walmart (some you're thinking, "Why in the world are you wearing those?  They don't even fit!").  It makes for good entertainment, but I question whether it's mean or not.  We're not exactly making fun of the people themselves, just their attire... So where do you cross the line?

Robbie's Bday

Yesterday was Robert's 23rd.  For dinner (we sorta had two...) we went on a picnic to Hobble Creek Canyon, and then to a luau his dad's BYU single's ward was having.  For Robert's present, I made him this:

I wrote the reason on one side...
and a picture to go along with the reason on the backside.
Yup.  That's what poor newlyweds give each other for birthdays.  Haha.  But Robert is getting the new iPhone 5 for his birthday that his parents mostly paid for.  He was supposed to get it yesterday, but the store he was getting it at only received 5 phones, so Robert has to wait till next week :(  He was pretty sad about that.  But, I'm sure he'll love it once he gets it!

 The colors are changing

 Pretty red trees

And then at the luau...
 That's Robert's surfing face
It was a good day, and we were exhausted.  We came home and watched Invincible, then went to bed.

Date Night

Last night Robert and I had an enjoyable evening.  First we went to dinner at JCW's (we still have a buy 1 hamburger get one free card).  On the card we were given 3 times we could use this deal, but yesterday was our last time to use it.  Luckily, we had a nice cashier who decided not to mark off the 3rd box, which means we get an extra time to go there with the deal!

Mmm... their burgers are delish!
After our hardy dinner, we went to order our movie tickets for 9:40 at the dollar theater in Provo (JCW's is in that vicinity, so we thought we might as well order our tickets.  Friday nights at that theater is a zoo.)  Then... we went bowling!  We both haven't been forever!  And it was fun.  Especially since I whooped Robert both times (usually he beats me... I think yesterday would've been the 2nd and 3rd times I've beaten him at bowling).  He was having an off night.

That's me only knocking down 1 pin on my first bowl.  Ha.

Yes, that is me, Loki, pretty much doubling Thor's score.
After we bowled, Robert and I went to the Orem mall while we killed time before the movie.  We were trying to look for a birthday present for my dad, but had no clue what to get him.  We ended up finding one (not at the mall, but close to it).  After like 2 hours, it was finally time to go to the movie theater (except we ended up waiting in our car for a bit because we were still too early).
We went and saw Ted.  JK.  That's rated R, silly!  We actually saw Snow White & the Huntsman.
It was a pretty good movie.  Robert and I liked it, minus the ending.  The thing that bothered me the most was when the Huntsman kissed Snow White and broke the spell.  She woke up from the dead, and no one questioned how she woke up, they just went right into battle.  Dumb.  And in the end, we never find out what happens between the Huntsman and Snow White.  It was like true love's kiss didn't matter because she was too busy getting fighting the evil stepmom and getting crowned queen.  Other than that, it was a good movie.  And that was the end of our night.

Instagram

So like a week ago I joined Instagram.  Why?  Because I see people posting things from Instagram all the time, and I didn't know what hashtags meant when putting it with a word (eg. #hi).  I mean, I wondered this from when Twitter came about, but I never bothered with Twitter, but I like seeing pictures people put on Instagram.  Plus, my friend was telling me what the hashtags were for, and now I get it.  And I use them randomly as a joke.  Ha.  #istillthinkitsweird.  Oh well.

School, school, school.  Homework, homework, homework.  I feel like that's all I do.  Pretty much.  #lame.  Haha jk.  I have been able to squeeze some enjoyment into my life with school and homework going on, which has been nice.  And I hardly write on here anymore because my life is boring.  Who wants to hear about school and homework all the time?  No one.

September just feels like a crazy month.

Saturday night: ward choir sings at stake conference.
Sunday: stake conference
Sunday the 16th: my dad's bday
Friday the 21st: Robert's bday
Sunday the 23rd: the Bountiful temple dedication

Okay, not that crazy, but it seems more eventful than usual.  I can't wait to write about Robert's bday :)  Except for it's kinda ruined already :(... I will explain that more in that blog post.

What a Relief!

I have been having an ongoing debate about whether I wanted to continue with my Clinical Lab Science major, but I just wasn't feeling it.  At the same time, I had no clue what I wanted to do because nothing else sounded interesting either, so I decided to just stick with the major I originally picked.  Then came my MMBio 240 class.  On the 3rd day of class (Friday), I had no clue what the heck was going on in class, and I didn't want the rest of the semester, or the rest of my college career to be that way.  I took Intro to Microbiology last winter semester, and I didn't really understand anything in that class either, but I got an A- only because of all the homework assignments, which was answering questions from readings (and the answers were easy to find).  That should have been a red flag to look for another major, especially since the majority of the Clinical Lab Science major is taking MMBio classes.  This weekend I was in a bad mood and decided I needed to change my major.  I was thinking and thinking over the entire weekend about what I could change to, while getting input from Robert.  The last time when I almost decided to change, but didn't, I had this discussion with Robert also, and he told me he thought I would be good at interior design.  I shrugged it off, thinking I wouldn't be good at it and wasn't sure how I felt about it, and just decided to stick Clinical Lab Science out (till now).  Over the weekend, he gave me more options, interior design being the first one again.  He also said I would be a good family lawyer or something of the sort, but that isn't something that interests me.  He thinks I'd be a good accountant, but that is something I have no interest in either.  Interior design stuck out to me, and I thought about it a lot, especially last night, and I don't know, but I felt happy and good about it.  This morning I looked up interior design as a major, but unfortunately BYU doesn't have it as a major.  But, there is another route I can take.  I googled BYU interior design major and found that they have elective classes under the Family Life major, which I would need to take as part of the major.  So I have decided I am going to be a Family Life major and specialize in interior design later on when I have to intern and such.  But I want to take the class first to make sure I really do enjoy it before I go off switching my major.  Anyways, I am excited and feel like that will be good for me.  I dropped the MMBio class and replaced it with an interior design class, which I will start tomorrow.  Luckily it's not too late in the game, so I'm glad I switched when I did.

Washington State vs. BYU

Yup.  We went to the game on Thursday.  It went from 8:15 to around 11:45.  So that means I didn't get to bed around 12:30, and I had to get up at 6 for class in the morning.  Did I regret going to the game?  To be honest, a little hahaha.  Don't get me wrong, it was fun, but I am a person who needs my sleep and I was dead tired the next day.  I had class/work till about 3 and I went home and just wanted to lay in bed.  So I did, but not to sleep.  I finished a book, then loaded the dishwasher (cuz our dishes were piling up) and then Robert came home and we both napped.  It was nice.

The stadium's nice new LED screens.  It was like watching HD video.

Luckily we took these pictures before it decided to pour.  I was wet, and a little cold.  But it was a warm night that night so it helped.
Last night was crazy.  I woke up to loud rain, and then there was bright lightening and very loud thunder.  I don't remember the last time it rained like that in Utah.  Whenever it rains in Asia, that's pretty much how it rains every time.  So when the weatherman kept saying: "We're gonna have a monsoon,"  Robert and I just had to laugh because it would end up sprinkling.  And for this weekend, the weatherman just said it would be a storm, but that was closer to a monsoon.

Well, back to homework.  It's pretty much my life now.  Sucks.
