Well. Why did I create a blog? Because work is a little slow, seeing as
how it is Spring term, and I need something to fill up my time till the
hands on the clock hit 5 o'clock. So here I am. That just shows you how
desperate I am to fill up time, filling up a blog that probably no one
will even read. So, basically I am just talking to myself. You know,
smart people tend to talk to themselves (quoting my boss).
You know what else I do to fill up my time nowadays? I read. I didn't
really enjoy reading, even if I read a good book here and there, but
after reading the Fablehaven series and the Hunger Games, I find myself
wandering the site of Goodreads.com and looking for books to read. I
think I actually enjoy reading now (minus school textbooks... yuck). I
just finished Mockingjay yesterday, and I mean, the ending wasn't
TERRIBLE like I have heard from practically everyone, but it was kind
of depressing. Even though Katniss ended up with Peeta (yay!) and has
two kids. She just never found true happiness after her life of Hunger
Games and war. She was depressed till the end, which made me kind of
depressed.
I also finished reading The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks a week before I finished Mockingjay.
It wasn't his typical romance novel. Sure, there was some romance here
and there, but it was overall creepy. I did some of the reading right
when it started getting scary when I was home alone because Robert was
at work. And it was night. It's about this girl whose husband dies,
and four years later she starts dating again. She dates boring Bob
until she meets Richard. Richard is the perfect man and takes
her out on amazing dates. Then there's Mike, who was her husband's best
friend growing up, so she's known him for 12 years. Everything's going
great, until a creeper stalks her (it's kinda obvious as you read who
it is, but I don't wanna give it away). Yeah. That's why I was getting
scared all by my lonesome in my little apartment as night was
approaching. It's a good read, and I recommend it. Just don't read it
by yourself at night.
Yeaaaahhhh buddy!!!! Brandi made a blog! And so far it's about books! Looove it. I think I'll go read "The Guardian" now. K bye.
