Star Club

Okay, I didn't know how serious about astronomy some people are.  Not until this weekend.  I guess my father-in-law's boss is one of these serious astronomy people who has a huge telescope.  This telescope includes a keypad that allows you to input what star you want to see, and it finds it all on its own!  I didn't know telescopes were that high tech!  So on Saturday we were planning on going to the BYU soccer game and then to this star "party", but dinner ran a little late.  We skipped the soccer game and went to the star thing after dinner.

Don't let the opening paragraph fool you.  While I may sound excited about high tech telescopes, the only thing I thought was pretty cool was seeing Saturn through the telescope.  It looked like a fake little cartoon drawing of Saturn.  Anyways... I just don't see what is so exciting about seeing bright white dot after bright white dot.  It would have been cool to see galaxies (like those spirally looking ones), but there were too many clouds in the way.  So I just got to see Saturn and a bunch of white dots.
